Why Netherlands:

Investing €57.4 billion in R&D annually, the automotive sector is Europe's largest private contributor to innovation, accounting for 28% of total EU spending. As demand for Electric Vehicles (EVs) grow, there in obvious need for charging infrastructure to support the growth. About 9.5 million EVs will require charging infrastructure by 2050 in Netherlands alone.

The Netherlands already acted before the Paris agreement and implemented the “Energy agreement for sustainable growth” in 2013, aiming to increase the sustainability of the economy and society. The goal of the Energy agreement is to boost the economy while transitioning to a climate neutral energy supply in 2050.

European Union as of July 2019 has 144.00 charging points and over 26% are in Netherlands (37,037), with another 19% in Germany (27,459), 17% in France (24,850) and 13% in the United Kingdom (19,076). Together, these four countries account for 76% of all ECV charging points in the EU.

Netherlands is leading the Electric Vehicle adoption by implementing smart planning, charging infrastructure, innovative policies and government support. This event will be able to share the success of Netherlands and learn from early adopters in EU.
